The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) is inviting proposals from leading researchers for its “Brexit Priority Grants” as part of the Council’s UK in a Changing Europe initiative. These are to support a range of activities including research synthesis, user engagement and new short-term research activity related to the process of the UK leaving the European Union.

The ERC is seen by UK scientists as one of the last bastions of blue skies research, which is science that explores ground-breaking ideas which don’t yet have any obvious real world application. The ERC has yearly calls for proposals covering all scientific fields.
